This week is Spirit Week, which will feature a fun activity each day. Daily events are during Common Hour (12:20 to 1:20 p.m.) unless specified.

Basic Proton Therapy Presentation on Aug. 5

The McLaren Proton Therapy Center will is giving a virtual presentation on Basic Proton Therapy from 12:25 to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5.

Proton Therapy is the latest trend in cancer treatment and an area of active research.

Parking Lot EE Closed to Faculty/Staff on Aug. 10

The Summer Employment Fair will be next Tuesday, Aug. 10. As a welcoming gesture to representatives of our partnering Co-op companies, Parking Lot EE will be reserved to accommodate their parking needs for the day.

We ask that all faculty and staff to not park in Lot EE next Tuesday, Aug. 10. Please watch your email next week for alternative parking information.

AutoDrive II Info Meeting on Aug. 6

Students interested in participating in the AutoDrive II can attend an informational meeting from 12:20 to 1:20 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5 in Room 2225 of the Academic Building.

AutoDrive II is a four-year competition in which undergraduate and graduate students of all majors work together to concert an electric vehicle into an autonomous vehicle capable of choosing its route and driving along that route. Students develop valuable career skills, gain course credit, win trophies and set themselves up for future success while having fun in the competition.

Kettering’s team recently completed the inaugural AutoDrive Challenge and placed fifth overall. The AutoDrive II Challenge kicks off in the fall.

Kappa Mu Epsilon Hosts Integral Bee on Aug. 11

Kappa Mu Epsilon is hosting an Integral Bee math competition from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11 for students and faculty.

The event is a bracket competition of solving integrals. Participants can compete on a team or individually. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners. Dinner also will be provided from Taboon Middle Eastern Cuisine.

The competition location will be emailed to participants.

Family Day on Aug. 14

Student Affairs is hosting Family Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 14 to welcome families back to campus. The event will feature campus tours, lunch and games.
