The Mechanical Engineering Department needs pictures of dogs to be used in the development of a program that could take automotive safety features to the next level.
If the research project is successful, it will help recognize if a dog is on a leash and improve the automation of vehicles. All images should include at least one human and one dog, on or off a leash.

Holistic Bulldog Mental Health Week Schedule

This week’s Building a Holistic Bulldog will focus on mental health. Below is this week’s schedule of virtual events:
- Today, 7 to 8:30 p.m.: Guided meditation.
- Tomorrow, Feb. 17, 7 to 8 p.m.: Managing stress session, presented by the Wellness Center.
- This Thursday, Feb. 18, 6 to 7 p.m.: “Ignite Your Happiness,” presented by Happiness Coach Rochelle Gapere.

In-person Campus Dining Resumes Wednesday

In-person dining will resume tomorrow, Feb. 17 at the Sunrise Cafe, Einstein Bros. Bagels and BJ’s Lounge & Grill with limited seating capacity.
Social distancing must be observed, and masks must be worn except when eating.
Carry-out also will be an option.
Operation hours will remain the same and can be found here.
Tutors Needed for Flint Kids at SBEV

College students are needed to work with middle-school-aged students in math and reading as part of the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village (SBEV) tutoring program.
The program will begin next Monday, Feb. 22, after school sometime between 4 and 7 p.m. It will continue Monday through Friday.
Classroom capacities will be limited to eight to 10 people, and everyone is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
All necessary materials will be provided, but you’ll need your own transportation. SBVE is located at 4119 Saginaw St. in Flint.

KDS Spring Survey, February Special Events

This month, KDS planned special meals to celebrate Black History Month, Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. The following is the special meal that will be served:
- Tuesday, Feb. 16: Paczkis are available to celebrate Fat Tuesday in the Sunrise Cafe all day
- Wednesday, Feb. 17: No meat options will be available in the Sunrise Cafe and BJ’s in honor of Ash Wednesday
- Next Wednesday, Feb. 24: Another Southern lunch, featuring fried catfish, white rice with black-eyed peas, fried okra, coleslaw and hushpuppies

The survey is available Feb. 16 through Feb. 27. KDS will donate $1 to the Food Bank of Michigan for each completed survey.
