Robot Society Inducts New Members

Six new members were welcomed into the Robot Honor Society on Sept. 14 during an event.

The Robot Honor Society recognizes 1 percent of students for their outstanding creative leadership, service that transcends self and citizenship that demonstrates responsibility. Students go through a highly selective process conducted by their peers, staff and faculty.

Alpha Pi Mu Initiates Three New Members

Alpha Pi Mu 2021 initiates

The Industrial Engineering honor society, Alpha Pi Mu, initiated three new members during a ceremony Sept. 14.

To qualify for membership, students must be in the top 20 percent of their junior class or top 33 percent of their senior class and exhibit positive character traits.

Congratulations to Catharine Carlson (’23, IE), Marta Corvaglia (’23, IE) and Skyler Chinn (’24, IE).

Four Students Get SWE Scholarships

The Society of Women Engineers announced 2021 scholarship recipients. More than 1.2 million was awarded to 289 recipients.

Congratulations to the following Kettering students:

  • Candace Ulett (’21, ME) received a Meredith Thoms Memorial Scholarship.
  • Isabella Weingartz (’24, ME) received a Ford Motor Company Scholarship.
  • Ashley Wisdom (’21, CE) received the Woon Family Scholarship.
  • Chelsea Wright (’21, IE) received a Xilinx Empowering Women in Technology Scholarship.

Chill Block Party on Wednesday

Faculty, staff and students are invited to a Chill Block Party from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, on the front patio and lawn area of the Campus Center.

End the Summer Term with free lunch, a cornhole competition, music and great fellowship.
