The High-Voltage Laboratory was established in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering with financial support from National Science Foundation (Grant number # USE-8851806). It took about five years to complete the full construction of the laboratory. Part of the equipment was imported from Germany.
The main objectives of the High-Voltage Laboratory are research, testing and instruction.
