The NVHEM Lab focuses on research related to analytical and experimental topics in structural and acoustic systems. The main goal of NVHEM is to develop, apply, and improve measurement techniques and simulation procedures to better understand these systems. We work on both federally-funded and industry-funded projects. We also provide consultation services to industry.
Research topics include NVH, FEA, modal analysis, sound and acoustic analysis, and structural health monitoring. The laboratory is used by faculty and both graduate and undergraduate level students in various engineering degree programs to assist them in their cutting edge research.
Positions : NVH & Experimental Mechanics Laboratory is looking for undergraduate and graduate students and visiting scholars interested in working on projects in the area of
(1) Deep learning and AI
(2) Computer vision for vibration measurement
(3) Finite element analysis
(4) Vehicle and tire dynamics
The applicants need to be motivated in these areas and have proper backgrounds. The positions are open to all graduate students from any field.
Preferred Qualifications: Background at least in one of these: Python or MATLAB programming, Abaqus, Ansys, Vehicle Dynamics, or Vibrations.
There are assistantship opportunities available from sponsored research projects and internal funding.
