Dr. Rasoul Atashipour is a Research Scientist in NVH and experimental mechanics at Kettering University, and an Affiliated Researcher in Dynamics at Chalmers University of Technology. He received his master’s in Mechanical Engineering (2008) and his first PhD (2013) in Solid Mechanics at Tehran University of Science & Technology. Later, he was awarded a PhD (2016) in Structural Mechanics from Lulea University of Technology, Sweden. He also completed a two-year Postdoctoral research (2018) in Lightweight Structures at Chalmers University of Technology.

His research area spans a wide range of topics in Structural and Mechanical Engineering discipline namely, Vibration and Modal analysis of complex structures, 3-D Elastodynamics, Adhesive Joints, Lightweight Sandwich Structures, Plates and Shells, Laminated FRP Composites, Functionally Graded Materials, and Timber Building Structures. The focus of his current research is on development of a new approach for health monitoring of human skin.
