Optical Methods for Vibration Measurements

Researchers at KU have been developing new techniques that advance the applications of optical systems for vibration analysis. One of the techniques they have recently developed is related to a multi-view optical technique. This technique proposes stitching the views in the frequency domain rather than the commonly used approach of stitching in the time domain. That way, the mode shapes for each section of the object can be easily stitched together while they have been measured at different times.
